Just interested in the screen manufacturer for the new iPad Air.

Picked up my new Air at the Belfast Apple Store.

Serial number starts as DMQL - which I believe is a Samsung.

What's yours?:D
 
mine

Mine starts with DMPL and I don't like it. much too blue, colors don't seem anywhere near as vibrant as my ipad 2 even. How can one check the screen manufacturer?
 
DMPL on mine and my Air isn't NEARLY as bright as my iPad Mini. Colors look different as well

Based on that, odds are that DMPL is LG screen.. blahh.. I'm going to probably go back for a cellular model anyway, hopefully getting a Samsung screen in the process.
 
How do we know what serial number is for which manufacturer? Mine's a DMRL, looking beautiful. Darned near crossed my eyes to make sure it was RL and not PL.
 
DMPL here and a beautiful screen. Bright and good colours. Much better than my Mini.

ahh ok thank you. I didn't know. Now I feel better :)
 
DMPL here (info in settings-general-about). Tint is cooler than my iPad 3, which I always felt was a little too warm anyway. Goes better with the new iOS 7 look I suppose.
 
Mine is a DMQL made in Foxconn Week 42, charging at the moment but I turned the lights out (its dark now in UK) in my room and the apple screen shows no evident bleeding.

I got a Space Grey 32GB Wi-Fi
 
DLXL no screen defects, but is more yellow than my iPad 4 or rMBP. Not sure whether to try for a better screen or just keep this one.
 
DMQL - much cooler vs my iPad 3. Also much more contrasty. Asides from the slightly dimmer backlighting on the far left edges, I'm happy with how it looks

you have same prefix of serial as me even though I am on the other side of the world in the UK :)

I am finding the same too, say if we are looking at the icons then the last row seems to be slightly dimmer, is that the same for you roughly?
 
DLXL... Screaming bright when turned up all the way, and a pleasant cool tone on this site, and a bit more neutral white in iBooks.

Just check my brightness level, and full is nearly blinding! I'm at around 40% with a lamp right next to me.
 
DMPL, warmer than my iPhone 5, backlight is even and no bleed that I can see. Pleased.
