I finally got home and gave it a full inspection under my bright lamps looking for damage or dings. I ran a series of color pattern tests checking for lint, abnormal light bleed, dead pixels, or banding along the left side some folks have said they had. It checked out perfectly fine. Same for the gyroscope.

I can finally enjoy it in peace really happy w/ my purchase. Good luck guys!!

Mine is also fine. Did check for any issues after reading posts from other members.

I feel so relieved that my ipad Air doesn't have any dead pixels. I couldn't live with that lol. I'm enjoying mine:)
Not gonna so picky this time tho. The more I read, the more I have to check and it gives me headache lol

First one had a black speck under the glass.

This one has two faint shadowy bands going across the screen and a dead pixel.

This is so frustrating.

Going back again to the store tomorrow and trying again. They are probably sold out now though.

This guy right here

Okay, as a virgin ipad user (lord that sounds silly), what all should I be looking for?

To my untrained eye, so far, everything looks fine. Went into a dark room and didn't see any light leaks (if I did that right) & don't think I see the left side shadow column peops have mentioned. Already checked for dings on the casing while at the Apple store & it's all good. No clue what this pink/green/weird screen color is some have reported.

Anything else I should check?

Hi, just ordered my 32gb wifi+4g from tmobile. I'm a newbie how do I do color pattern tests, abnormal light bleed tests etc. lol

My only problem is... that there are no problems with my new iPad. I am really diggin this new design for the full size iPad and couldn't be happier with the purchase I made today.

Don't even think about it anymore! Enjoy your new ipad!

Some of you are freaking insane with a dash of hospital grade OCD.

I just took my air out of the box, did a 5 minute inspection and I am good to go.

As long as there isn't a defect that I can notice under normal use, why do I need "more"?

Will you really use your iPad under the extreme conditions that you use to test? No. And if you do, you may need something other than a tablet....
