I see my next device. This would answer all my issues I had with the Nexus 7.

This. Nexus 8 and Nexus 10 for the holidays from the looks of it. I always wished the N7 was the same size of the iPad Mini.

Definitely not the current Nexus 7 but to me it just looks like the current version with smaller bezels. To my eye, the display doesn't appear any bigger. Nothing wrong with that but I'd also rather have an 8" display.

Too small to be the N10 ;)

Of course, def not a N10. But the N10 last came out in Nov 2012...its update is coming soon. I guess Google is trying to deal with the N5 orders right now...imagine an N5, N8 and N10 launch at the same time...it would have been a horrible launch...heck, they can barely handle N5 alone.

I wish... but I think its a render or something. If it was the Nexus 8 the image would have been taken down already...

I dont see Google releasing a Nexus 8. They would have announced it already on the 31st. Would have been a huge seller for the holidays.

Maybe its a refined version of the Nexus 7, just like the refined version of the Nexus 4 last year. Just some tweaks on the outside.

N10 is too big but N8 with a 1920x1200 would be sweeeeeet

That definitely is not 1920x1200 (16:10), looks a lot more like 1920x1080 (16:9) to me. It would be much worse for web surfing, but fine for media consumption. I'm guessing that's what this is geared at whatever it turns out to be.

Doesn't Sammy have 5/7/8/10" tablets in their lineup ?

True but Sammy mostly fires and forgets, so launching 50 products a year is easy.

The nexus support pledge ensures Google will have more deference.

If they release this I would definately get rid of my iPad mini and get one of these.

If they release this I won't even consider a mini which is why I thought about getting one because there is no 8" Nexus tablet.

I can see this priced around $299.

iPad Mini - $399
Nexus 8 - $299
Nexus 7 - $229

Here is the image itself.

I don't think it's the Nexus 8. I think it's a rendered display (the entire front, I'm saying, has been replaced with a rendered image) on top of some tablet that very well might be the Nexus 7 - holding mine at that angle, it looks really similar.

There is no camera visible. I am pretty sure we'd see one.

I'd love a minimal-bezel N8 like this. I hope I'm wrong. But I really, really doubt that the new Nexus 8 was inadvertently leaked on one of android.com's main tabs. I think it was just altered to make the display more readable.

I also think it's a Nexus 7 with a superimposed image over the screen, making it look bigger.

If there was a Nexus 8 I would sell my new N7 in a heartbeat. The Nexus 7 with an 8" screen would be too perfect. It would literally squash any competition. 8" screens I think are the sweet spot for me. But I settled for a 7" because the Nexus 7 is a steal.

Google, are you listening? Make an N8.

Could be, otherwise it's Googles answer to the longphone 5.That aspect ratio is unnaturally tall.

The nexus 5 is made by LG and the nexus 10 is made by samsung and soon to be Asus. I don't think the nexus 5 launch would effect the nexus 10 launch or the possible nexus launch at all.
