Has Do Not Disturb been with the Mavericks update the entire time. I scrolled up while in the Notification Center and just saw it for the first time. I am loving Mavericks messages btw! Although I have noticed at times it does not pop up in a window or the notification doesn't stay up on the screen for very long. Any settings for that? To keep the notification of messages on the screen until I click it?

In System preferences/Notifications, for every app in the list you can select banner or alert (or nothing). Banners fade away if you ignore them, whereas alerts stay until you act on them.
