The speakers on the Air sound significantly worse than the speakers on the 4. Even though the speakers are closer to your ear than ever (on the bottom vs on the back) it still sounds farther away and muffled.

Thoughts?

I find the speakers considerably better on the Air, they have much improved bass which to me has always been my biggest problem with speakers in Apple products

I think you're mistaking more bass for the fact that you can feel the vibrations so much easier since it's so light and thin. I hear no bass improvement at all.

Nope I definitely think they have more bass although I do feel more vibration from them I don't think that's the reason for the increased bass.

I think they sound fine. My biggest complaint is the placement. I use my iPad in landscape mode almost exclusively with the Home button on the right. So my hand covers the speakers. I sure wish they had put one on the top and one on the bottom (or the right and left, depending on how you hold it).

But all in all I'm ok with them.

I think some may have gotten a bad speaker or two, or not installed right, mine sounds like crap.

How does Siri sound comparing it to the iphone 5? or ipad 3/4

Siri sounds completely different on my Air, muffled and sounds much more like a robot, not clean at all.
