I'm traveling away from home and will be in San Francisco on business. I have a 64GB iPad Air that I want to exchange for a 128GB iPad Air and today is my last day to do so. Normally I would take care of this at my home Apple Store but because today is my 14th and final day to return/exchange, and the Apple Store in San Francisco has the 128GB in stock I'd like to exchange there. After this ridiculously long preamble my question is this: can the Apple Store transfer/restore my current iPad to the one I'm exchanging for? I'm away from my MacBook Air and last backup and would hate to fly all the way home without the documentaries I have on my iPad - could make for a long, boring flight :D

1) Today isn't the last day. All iPad Airs shipped when Apple's holiday return policy took effect so you have until January to return/exchange.

2) If you want to exchange today to an update via iCloud. You can then do a restore via iCloud w/ your new one. They'll do it at the store if you ask.

When I bought the iPad Air (in store, not for pick-up), the receipt said 14 day return. I think the holiday return only applied to online orders.

Mine was an online order.

Can iCloud handle a 45GB backup?

It's not going to back up the entire 45 gigs. It won't back up music or videos or apps. It will back up app data, and I'm not sure what else.

Thanks for the response, Techiegirl. I was hoping to preserve a documentary that I need to watch for work on the flight home, but I suppose I can live without doing so.
