Hi I bought a very handy device ($50) which sends out a wireless signal anywhere in the world.
Apple store has the free app called 8Ware Helio which can read just about anything from that device such as movies, photos, word and xls docs, PPT

I am very happy with in and my available date now exceeds 300GB !!
This is plugging in my portable drive
