I have a MacBook 13" late 2008 model, and the total size is 80GB. How long will the backup take?

The initial backup of all 80gb over USB 3.0 would take about 20 minutes. Obviously, that's the worst case scenario considering you won't likely have all 80gb filled. From that point on the backup's are incremental changes, so probably about 5-10 minutes depending on how many changes were made.

Wait? Only 80gb? That's not right.

It's a 2008 MacBook, so, Firewire or USB 2.0.

OP, with USB 2.0, roughly an hour for the first sync.
