So there was a recent update for Pages which I installed just because. However, it instantly made all my Pages windows fuzzy / non-retina'd. Any idea what could have happened?

False alarm. Somehow Pages had not completed its installation on my computer but nonetheless functioned, minus the Retina capability somehow. That was probably a one-in-a-million chance occurrence there. All fixed!
