So my 3rd Gen iPad has had a crack going across the entire screen for a year or so now: it still works perfectly fine and it's really not noticeable unless you look for it.

My question is does apple replace the whole iPad with a refurbaihed one like they do the iPhones?, which used to be $199, I think it's $269 now. Do they even have the 3rd gen refurbs to replace them with or would they give me a fourth gen?

Debating if it's even worth fixing, if they replaced it with 4th gen I may do it.

Thanks, is the pricing the same as the iPhones?

Third Generation will cost you close to $330 with tax in, at least in Canada. A good condition used iPad 4 will likely cost you around $450-$500. So if you get the cash on hand, you can grab iPad 4 and continue use iPad 3. If you short on money, then either go replace your iPad 3 or not replace at all...
