iPod touch Importing/Exporting calendar & contacts

The easiest option is to allow iCloud sync for both devices. Then you don't have to even connect the two via a cable. Sync happens automatically in the background.
If you don't like iCloud, just plug your touch into your Air and let iTunes sync Calendars and Contacts (you'll see options across the top when you select your device while it's plugged in).
