From the link: "It's capable of video and now there's pornography all over the Internet," says Technology Expert Robin Raskin.

Another ace finally realizing porno exists.

Ahh the heartland of America...South Bend Indiana, anyone who knows what I'm talking about will know that it is much like the rest of middle America, in that the people are very conservative and religious.

They, of course, never considered that porno has to be put on the iPod from the computer, so instead of not getting the iPod in the first place, they could think of using some internet filtering stuff.

A local TV station just aired this story. Yes, they confused the Nano with the regular iPod, but that's beside the point.

Ah, yes... I know someone other then me saw that. I was watching it on WNDU on TV (I'm from NW Indiana too)... If you ask me it is plain old dumb. But I can see some cause for concerns, so we should not let kids use the computer  :D ... No matter what the Device or what the Era, there has always been new ways for people to get porn, I remember once seeing a Porn Like Game for the Atari 2600 System, and of course GoGo for the Newton, this has always been an issue but nothing ever comes out of it, other then paranoid parents.

On the news, there was this big story about how iPods can cause:
Hearing loss (well.. anything loud enough can. Geez.)
Ulcers
headaches
high blood pressure

and the list went on and on.. it was just so.. stupid!

but, they showed the SF apple store, and I was so excited. I pointed at the TV, said "HEY! SAN FRANCISCO APPLE STORE!!" and my brother called me a dork and my mom rolled her eyes.

Just wait until Texas news stations find out there's porn on the internet. It'll be horrible.

considered, think. Why you America hating communist! My Papa didn't drop napalm on defenseless villagers in Vietnam so that our generation would have to think for ourselves and consider consequences.

Stuck in the middle with you
I heard some big news article about these new things called "eyes." Apparently they allow kids to see porno and the Bible belters are trying to get these "eyes" abolished.

I was surprised on my travels to the likes of Ohio, that there were porno "superstores" along many major highways. But I guess it is OK since there is no Gay action, unless you count Girl-on-Girl action.

The bigger problem is parents in particular not having oversight of what their children are viewing or doing. With digital photography and video, gone are the days that parents would take a roll of film in for processing and find objectionable material.

Add to that that parents may not no all the ins and outs of the digital capture technology. But their kids sure do.

I will say that I am not sure how I would respond if I had kids myself today. At least I had to got to the library to check out what was there on sexual behavior (coming to grips with being Gay, that meant understanding that I was not "defective" or "abnormal".But the thought of being able to share pictures and video of ANY sexual encounter causes me great concern.

For these images will and can live on forever. For I can see George W. Bush Vi being brought down some his hijinks caught on digital media.
