Hey all.

I read somewhere on my twitter yesterday that it might be possible to alter the expiry date of 7.1b2, so as to ensure it doesn't expire with the jailbreak.

Except, I've forgotten the file path to the .plist to do this!

Does anyone have any idea? And which value to alter?

Cheers

The real question now is how do you check that it worked and not be screwed come Jan 27th.

correct. /usr/libexec/lockdown first checks to see if ReleaseType == Beta before checking the expire time.

Cool! Given that I've got substantially better results in my very thorough UIWebView & Safari in 7.1b2 (more info HERE; I'll post a very detailed article some time), it may be worth swithcing entirely to 7.1b2 now and staying on it if Apple closes the gap.

I'm off to upgrade & re-JB & re-test the tweaks.

Editing the plist and setting the time forward (and rebooting the device) has not been fruitful with the devices I tested (iPhone 5/iPad Mini/iPad 3rd Gen)

Yup, exactly as I've reported on in the other thread.

That is, do NOT trust this hack. It won't work.

Would have loved to stay 7.1 beta 2 jailbroken but don't want to end up stuck with (possible) 7.0.5 unjailbreakable in a month or so.

Rolled back to 7.0.4 and rejailbroke in the abundance of caution.

Yeah, a little concerned after the news that came to light. Hopefully someone far more tech savvy than me works out a fix

Two of us have pinged iHateSnow. Hope he'll clarify the issue soon. In the meantime, before he answers, I can only recommend downgrading to 7.0.4 as it won't expire.
