iPhone Unlock iPhone 4S 5.1.1 without losing the jailbreak

I hope this doesn't get lost in the flutter of the iOS 7 JB.
I talked to spring and they gave me an "unlock code" for my iPhone 4S.
Going into T-Mobile today to set it up, the phone refused to accept the unlock, and now I'm facing a potential restore.

This is frustrating, and I would then just use the iPhone 5S I'm currently using (bought on CL for cheap).

I then found this website which claims to have a way around it, however it suggests that it will only work with iOS 5.0.1.

Any ideas?

CDMA phones must be flashed to another CDMA carrier - if that carrier will accept the transfer.

I called sprint and they offered to unlock. They gave me an unlock code. I was shocked too. Now it looks like I have to do a full restore, something I want to avoid.

Supposedly an unlock code,
I think it worked through t-mobile, but it would have required a restore, something I don't want to do as I want to keep iOS 5.1.1

There is a possibility that sprint changed their unlock policy.
