Hey All

i just purchased an mac book pro(model identifier MacBookPro11,2) and was wondering if i am able to connect it up to my older iMac.
The iMac is a July 2010 model (model identifier iMac11,3)

I understand that i will more then likely need to purchase another cable but am not sure on which on to get and have not been able to find any good info online

Many Thanks in advance

Depends on what you mean by connect.

If you mean using your iMac as an external monitor via target display mode then you'll need a thunderbolt cable. For more information see: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3924#4

If you simply want to share files between the two Macs then you just need to be on the same network.
