Doesn't seem amazing if you ask me. I'm at almost 7 hours of usage with 1.4 days standby on my ipad 4 and still have 70% left. I'm not totally sure with the mini, I thought it was supposed to be the same as the air/4. Could be wrong though.

Are you on the beta? And when apple advertises 10 hours, and I get 13, that's amazing. They have always exaggerated in the past in this regard.

Not for a very long time. Like, since the transition to intel. Unless you mean exaggerate in favor of the consumer.

Yep, I've been on 7.1 b2 since it was released. I've gotten great battery life on 7.0.4 and 7.1, usually between 14-20 hours of usage with a few days of standby. I also don't listen tom lot of music so that's not distorting my usage time.

I checked apple and the iPad 4, air, and mini retina all advertise 10 hours of usage. IMO, this is extremely underrated, I get almost twice that.

I wish I had battery life like that. My 5S on beta 2 drops about a percent every couple minutes regardless of whether I'm using it or it's in standby. It's become useless to me since I have to leave it on the charger constantly.

Sorry for the OT response: Close your recently used apps and reset the phone. That will stop the drain until whatever is causing it starts again.

Thanks for the advice, but nope. I've tried restores, closing apps and turning off every functionality possible. Even in Airplane mode that battery still drains.

Hopefully some day our phones will get the same battery life of today's iPads!

If you can demonstrate the drain, take it to the Apple store for a replacement.

If you've restored and the problem persists then its hardware.

I was able to demonstrate the drain right in front of the guy at the Apple store but he insisted that the hardware was fine. Fortunately I have insurance through my carrier which will replace my phone for free. Just gotta wait for them to order me one.

Well if they can manage to cram a 6471mAh battery into the same 4" form factor, you'd get over 4x the battery life. Imagine 40 hours of actual usage between charges.

Seems regular to me, basing on my own personal schedule.
Doesn't make much sense sharing this kind of information without providing anything in regard to how you use the device.

yea this battery life isn't as amazing as you think. I've got a lot more than that on a full charge from my mini.

Outstanding battery here on my iPad Air. This screenshot was taken after a bit of charging because it died before I was able to take a screenshot. Was not in use during the short charge period (about 30 minutes). Almost a full week of standby with almost 17 hours of usage!

Edit: Was on 7.1 beta 2 when I took this. Updating to beta 3 now!

That's not so special. The max I ever had with my iPad 4 was 18h of usage. Just browsing, facebook, email & music.
When playing games (like GTA:SA) I only get about 8-9 hours. Which is still great ofcourse

My girlfriend gets at least! 15 hours on a single charge with her iPad mini 1 on 7.0.4
Her max was around 18 hours and she is only surfing, watching her series and playing 70% of the time.

Here's my battery so far on my iPad 4. Lots of safari browsing and lots of YouTube video watching. Excellent IMO.

That's an excellent battery usage!! Like this should the battery of the ipad work, for every 10% u lose - 2 hours of usage! I just sent my ipad in to reperation, apparently i will get a new one. So the 7.1 beta seems to be a "better" version of ios7 in what concerns battery usage?!

No wonder why you guys are getting 11+ hours… the phone drains so much slower when you barely use it (obviously) I find the more I use it a little at a time vs if I will be on it for 30 minutes straight, the battery will drain MUCH quicker if I'm on it 30 minutes straight whereas if I use it for 30 minutes total in small periods at a time.

OP and battery life he and others are talking about, is for the iPad, not the iPhone as you mentioned above

I have gotten close to 17 on my Air running 7.0.4. It all depends on what you do. You could set it to listen to music for 2 days and have 2 days of usage. Makes it look more amazing than it actually is.

Some observations. On my IOS 6 my battery seems to last much longer. My phone did go from 17% to 0.

I upgraded to IOS71B2 and my phone got to 4% then shut off. I restarted it and it said 7% for about 5 seconds and shut off. Did this several times over 3 hours.

My battery on IOS 7 is shorter. No doubt about it. Its a software issue. Or is one (or many) of the new features eating up the battery.

It always irks me when people claim good/bad battery life based on THEIR usage. Clearly, this will vary from person to person. Then people start panicking about their battery life because its not as good, and it causes for unnecessary stress.

iOS 7.1 in general, but especially 7.1b3, definitely seems to have seriously improved battery life with my iPhone 5. It's like a whole new extended battery. Worlds better than what it was like on iOS 6 and iOS 7.0
