14" 1.42 iBook or 15" 1.5 Powerbook?

Surely you can wait two weeks? Well if its urgent I would recommend the 15" Powerbook, or maybe you can look at the Refurb Store. They have seriously discounted iBooks and PBs. But you do know that you aren't getting any more pixels on the 14" iBook compared to the 12", just larger ones.

If the PB is new, go for it. The only advantage in my mine about the 14" is that it has a taller screen more fit for writing and seeing the length of the page, while PBs are better for video and other things. The PB sound a lot better because it probably has a faster hard drive and a larger hard drive, too. But beware the memory slot problem on 15" pbs.

Check another thread that i just posted on about the lower memory slot problem on 15" PBs. One of our smartest posters on MR, CanadaRam, thinks it is a firmware update that is frying the lower memory slot on 15" powerbooks.

I think you'll find the 14" iBook has 768 vertical pixels vs. 15" Previous Powerbook's 854 vertical pixels so the 15" would be a lot better to fit more writing. Taller maybe, but widescreen is better and it still has more pixels.

Umm. That makes some sense but somehow I can see the type better on the 14" screen. Maybe I'm wrong? i switched to the 14" from a 15" 1ghz Titanium Powerbook and the 14" iBook is much better than the older Tibook for writing.
