Sharing multiple drives and make them appear as one

Hi,

I have a problem with my 2006 Mac mini running Snow Leopard. The Mini is sharing multiple drives on the network and those drives mount as separate volumes.
When I copy a file from one network drive to another, the file does not move directly to its destination. Instead it first takes a 'detour' through my MacBook which increases the copy time a lot. How can I change this behavior?

It is working as intended. If you want it to be faster, do the file manipulation directly on the Mac mini.

Yes, but not as intended by me. There has to be a better way!

I share them via AFP. I tried SMB yesterday but it wouldn't work either.

Any other suggestions?
