Hi Guys

I have my MBP connected to an external display and the MBP stays in clam shell mode..

I have noticed recently after using the MBP for a long period and then it going into idle mode, that the internal fan will spin up for a minute or so..

My question is - is this normal? as before it went into idle I wasn't using any intense programs.

I'm asking as my MBP warranty runs out this month and I haven't bought applecare.

I'd appreciate your advice

thanks

Hay

Does this issue only happen when in clamshell mode? Also, have you tried resetting the SMC and PRAM?

I believe it happens in normal mode too, and yes I've tried resent both the PRAM and SMC

This issue doesn't happen all the time either.
