Transferring songs between comps

I have an 8 day old iBook and want to put my iTunes library from my Dell onto this. How do I go about doing this because I would have to reformat my iPod but if i do that, doesn't that clear off all the songs off my iPod?
-13" MBP (2.26 Ghz, 160 GB, 4 GB DDR3, Mac OS 10.9)
-Some old iPods...
-iPhone 5S
