i have a part wired and part wireless network in my house.........there are 3 pcs on it, and 2 macs

since we have gotten the macs, we never use the pcs anymore so they usually remain off.

however, when i turn the pc in my room off, (which is wired on the network), i cannot connect to the internet. the only time the network works is when that computer is on. my imac and powerbook are both connected wirelessly. the 2 other pcs are both wired but them being on doesnt matter..........how can i remedy this? thanks...i dont want to leave my PC on for monts at a time while i am at college

Is the broadband modem connected to the PC? If so, you'll have to hook it into your router to get internet while that computer is off. You might want to give a few more details:

Type of internet connection.
Modem Setup
Router Setup
PC OS's
