Whats wrong with Skype?
IMO, reliability. WA works perfect and always delivers on messages and notifications. Skype? Works maybe 2 out of 10 times for me.
Correct me if I am wrong but don't you have to use Talkatone along with Google Voice to make calls? Also for those who may be wondering, Google Voice cannot be found on the iPad App store. I think you go thru iTunes.
Whatsapp works perfectly on my iPad. If anybody is interested, I wrote a step by step "how to" on this forum. There are also several articles on how it is done on the net.
The first link is from my post. It will give you an overview of the way I did it. The second link includes a video and shows the specific files to move.
My instructions, I already had Whatsapp running on the iPhone hence the directions to delete it on the phone. I used my Google number and it's ability to receive the text on the iPad so my directions differ slightly from the video. The secret is the two devices (your phone and pad must use different phone numbers as only one device using a given number can be logged in at the same time. (You can not have your iPhone messages repeat to the iPad. )

It has been some time since I did this but if you have any problems come back and I will attempt to walk you through it.
Thanks, I'll give it a try... although I hoped it could have the same number in both devices. Perhaps it's time to drop whatsapp and pick up another service that's able to integrate multiple devices for different platforms and cope with that real need without hacks. Only one number, hard linked to a mobile phone, seems kind of outdated.
Plus, I don't trust Facebook at all: the reason they paid that insane amount of money for WA is to exploit its users as they do on FB.
