Which iOS for 3GS?

I found 6.1.3 to be better than previous 6.x.x! But it still lags sometimes! The perfect iOS would be 4.x.x it's super fast but you lose in apps

I would reccomand iOS 6.

You can only go down to 5.x.x or 4.x.x if you've saved the SHSH. Otherwise downgrading isn't possible because Apple doesn't allow it.

Seems like it would be 6.1.6 at this point actually.

I believe 6.1.3 is the last update for the 3GS. I still own one and the last time I plugged it in I wasn't prompted to update.

Apple is still signing iOS 4.1 for the iPhone 3GS, so you could try that (if you don't have SHSH blobs for other versions of iOS).

Issues with 4.1:
* sometimes initiating a call will fail.
* poor app compatibility!
* old notification system and no iCloud.

Other than that, I would go with iOS 6.1.6. I have no idea why 6.1.3 is mentioned so much in this thread.
