viewing macbook air on TV

I have previously used mac to view shows on sharp TV (HDMI) but now it will not work. Mac is showing sharp TV as detected but will not give picture. Any suggestions.

Whilst connected have you tried different resolutions? Have you tried restarting whilst attached? Have you tried different port on the computer, different cable? etc. More detail is needed here.
