speakerphone issue?

Knock on wood, I have never had any major issues with my 5 just little things I want to deem if normal or troublesome. I have noticed when hitting the speakerphone icon I can't just quickly tap I need to hold down even if for a mere millisecond, wondering normal or not? I do have an otterbox on it
