Title says it all. I first noticed this a while back after downloading 3D mark on steam. Temps have been consistently under 42 degrees Celsius.
I then wondered if it was just the cpu throttling or it just didn't need to clock faster... and that it would turbo boost eventually.
So I ran 4 simultaneous dolphin emulations to put my CPU at 100% load and used a few programs to analyze the frequency. It never budged.
I ran a similar experiment in OSX by running 20+ CPU vs CPU chess matches. I usesd the Intel(r)Power Gadget to look at the clock speed and activity monitor for the CPU load data. It was, again, stuck at 1.6GHZ no matter what I did...
Could anyone help me find a solution? This is really hurting my iMac's usefulness. My hunch is that it is a firmware or EFI issue..? I'm not well versed in these things so any tips with troubleshooting this would be great!
