Apple Seeds OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Build 13D21 to Developers

Apple today seeded build 13D21 of OS X 10.9.3 to developers, one week after releasing the second OS X 10.9.3 beta, build 13D17 and two weeks after the first 10.9.3 beta. The beta is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store as well as through the Mac Dev Center.

Apple is currently asking developers to focus on Graphics Drivers and Audio. As was discovered with the first beta, 10.9.3 adds new support for 4K displays, offering "Retina" resolutions that improve readability along with support for 60Hz output from the Retina MacBook Pro.

Apple has also released the new 11.1.6 iTunes beta to developers, which was initially seeded to Apple employees earlier this week. The beta restores the ability to locally sync contacts and calendars, a feature that was removed with the launch of Mavericks.

10.9.2 fixed most of my issues. windows snapping to the top of the screen, random kernel panics, etc.

(late 2013 rMBP)

I like seeing them working on graphics performance. Maybe someday I'll be able to get similar performance in games that have Mac versions to the performance of Windows versions.

Does this fix all the wifi/connectivity issues that were supposed to be fixed in 10.9.2?

Direct Download

Is there a direct link for this download, which hopefully fixes the freezing with 10.9.3 Build 13D17?

Download it from your developers account.

I can only see the "OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility".

Are you a new developer? Take the seed configuration utility and use it. You should be able to find new software in the App Store updates.

Don't know if this is different but on 10.9.3, Iris Pro takes up to 1.5GB instead of 1GB (as stated here) of system memory.

Doesn't it depend if the game was built for DirectX to begin with? There's only so much performance you can get out of video, even with perfectly tuned drivers.

My Late 2013 15" rMBP (with Iris Pro + NVIDIA, 16 GB RAM) running 10.9.2 shows 1 GB of VRAM for the Iris Pro.

The direct links are in apple's developer forums. We can't put them on macrumors forums.

Alternatively, install the mavericks seed configuration utility and install the beta from the mac app store.

Found the direct links.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

interesting

as an aside - this crashed my (previously) 100% functional vanilla hackintosh build. None of the new 10.9.3x builds work.

verbose boot mode indicates (hard to see) that the crash occurs at the last stage of loading video drivers. Hangs at white screen of death.

alas.

Was anyone else having loss of audio on the previous build on a 2013 rMBP?

Nice! Do you think you could check if 10.9.3 supports any new OpenGL functionality compared to 10.9.2? (I made a post about how to do that here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost...34&postcount=9)

It doesn't. The GPU performance has increased around 10% for me though...

Yes, there seems to be 2 new ARB extensions, but no change in Open GL 4.2+ support, I'm afraid:

That's what I thought. But. Any improvement is better surely?
I long for the days when I can game properly in Parallels.

Which extensions are they? Here's what I have in 10.9.2: http://i.imgur.com/LvIumpg.png

EDIT: I just realized they probably aren't new - I have an AMD Radeon 6750m, which doesn't have native hardware support for 64 bit floating point computations on the GPU, so the two extensions related to that which are normally supported (ARB_gpu_shader_fp64 and ARB_vertex_attrib_64bit) aren't exported on Apple's drivers for this GPU.

https://developer.apple.com/graphics.../capabilities/ shows that as well.

See attached image. Seems to be the gpu_shader_fp64 and the vertex_attrib_64bit.
