Is it normal for Mavericks to keep looking for a network even though a network has been selected? This happens each time I click on the Network menu icon.

I've also noticed connectivity issues since I've updated to OS X 10.9.2. Intermittently goes off/on throughout the day. I've opened Network Preferences under Advanced and ensured that my wifi was selected. I do have my iPhone in the network, but it's not selected. Should I delete the iPhone network? I want to keep it because I use Bluetooth sometimes. Any other thoughts on what I can do?

Another question is that my Bluetooth pairing with iPhone and MBP doesn't work that good since the update. Well, it works and then it doesn't (loses signal) even though I have connected the iPhone with my USB. Anyone have any suggestions to fix that?
