iPhoto Library 5X bigger than Photos

Hey

I am having a fairly common problem I think.


My Photos equal to be about 4.5 GBs, not very big.

When i cllick "get info" of the iPhoto library it says the library is 23.4 gigs

I don't have many videos. So i don't think its that.

I tried starting a new library and importing my Events one at a time. I don't really want to do that since all of my Faces and Places are not there.


I also have Apeture if that effects this at all.

iPhoto has much more than just the original photos in there. It creates previews, copies of photos that are edited, some caches or whatnot from mobile devices, and so on.

Search around; there are tons of tips around for slimming it down if you intend to go that route.
