Hi,

Our 12 core turned up the other day, and having been set up and ready to go we've moved it onto the right desk with 2 monitors, a 21" HP and a 27" Philips 272P4.

The resolution is fine on both, but the Philips is blurry and the HP is not. Taking a screenshot of the menubar on the blurry Philips and then moving said screenshot across to the HP results in the screenshot no longer being blurry. I have attached some pictures below.

This was not a problem on the previous mac pro at this desk, and the problem doesn't seem to be affected by cable changing. I am currently using a mini display port to displayport, but it is still there when using a mini DP to HDMI and also HDMI to HDMI.

LCD font smoothing is on, although there is no visible change if I turn it off.

From doing a rather extensive google search I've tried using the ruby patch-edid display override fix which you can read about here which gave me an override folder to put in the Display folder (which has moved in Mavericks it seems, I had to go digging). Either I've done something wrong or this doesn't seem to do anything either.

I'd very much appreciate any help you can give me!

I've managed it - it turns out that there is a 3rd Library folder! I've attached a screenshot, but its inside Mac HD, SYSTEM, Library, displays etc...

That coupled with editing (with text wrangler) the override file so that the dodgy characters the Panasonic adds to the file are not there fixed it.

Hopefully that'll help someone if they google this!

Cheers.
