I have an external 2TB Firewire drive with 3 partitions. I've attached a screen grab from Disk Utility of the partitions.

I resized the third partition "iMac HD BACKUP" to free up some space. What I would like to do is "add" that free space from the third partition to the second partition "iMac Mercury Elite". But it doesn't appear that Disk Utility will let me do that.

Anyone know if it's possible to resize those second and third partitions without first creating disk images and completely reformatting the drive?

Thank you!

Partly.... you will need to remove iMac HD Backup then expand iMac Mercury Elite. Then put BACKUP back in to the space at the end. So yes, you will lose data on BACKUP, but Elite can non-destructively be expanded.

Backup first just to be safe.
