I have a mid 2011 imac and im trying to install windows 7 using bootcamp, but bootcamp doesnt reconise the usb drive with windows 7 on it, it seems like bootcamp wont allow me to install with a usb drive at all. i have bootcamp 5.1.2 and osx 10.9.2. my dvd drive doesnt work so i cant use a dvd

Is the USB drive setup as a boot disk (as in bootable) or simply has the Windows 7 file on it? If the Windows 7 file is on it, you must restore the file to the USB drive.
