choose where the icons of the mounted disks must appear

Hi,

I don't know if this is possible. I'd like that the icons of the mounted disks would appear on the left side of the desktop. I've been searching info on how to do it but no luck.
Every time I plug a pen or mount a dmg, the icon appear below notification icon (right side of the desktop), and I'd like that appear below the apple icon (left side of the desktop). I use two monitors and due to my apps configuration these icons are always hidden behind netbeans' IDE.

Is there any way to choose the place where these icons must appear?
