Is it really worth starting a thread for something that doesn't exist and was unlikely to exist anyway?

What more can be said? Much like the Apple plasma displays...

Plenty of 3rd-party solutions out there. End of subject.

Actually the iPod Boombox is apparently quite real! In Hong Kong, Apple have pending trademark registrations for iPod Hi-Fi (app. 300497133 filed 20-09-2005), Boombox (app. 300438237 filed 13-06-2005) and iPod Boombox (app. 300438246 filed 13-06-2005). All three of these cover computer and audio equipment (with the kitchen sink and a few other things thrown in).

For some reason Apple like to file trademarks first in various Asian countries to establish priority, I'm guessing that they find the process moves faster there.
