Thunderbolt Expansion for MBP (USB, FW etc.)

Hey there,

I've managed to swap my 2010 Mac Pro in my recording studio with a late 2013 MacBook Pro. This is hooked up to 2 Apple Cinema Displays. However, I'm still quite limited by the connectivity as I ethernet based mixers, firewire based DSP etc. to connect.

I might be able to get my hands on the Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock, but I've seen quite a few negative reviews saying they don't offer enough power for USB etc. I wouldn't want to invest in a half-arsed product.

Is there anything out there which provides truly expanded connectivity?

I have 2 of these cal digit Thunderbolt docks http://www.caldigit.com/thunderboltstation/
One supports video editing and the other is in the office. Great units with more versatility for my purposes than the Belkin and no more expensive than competitors at ~$300. It shipped very quickly and was truly plug and play.

Ah yes, CalDigit is another option, but I'm not sure if they'd ship to where I am and how much customs I might get charged.

Can't believe there are only 2 products out there.

But I think it is more expensive and I cannot tell that it has any advantages over the Caldigit TB Dock that has been on the market longer. Good luck.
