Are there any professional designers working mainly with Open Source? I know CS2 and Quark are almost compulsory, but hey? Just trying to keep up with what my iMates* are doing.

(*Being an Aussie, I was horrified when I realized I had typed "you all" which could sound like "y'all" — which is definitely not something us Aussies say. Then I switched to mates but it didn't work, and then I thought of iMates. Anyone like it?)

I've used the gimp and nvu before. Both are decent open source programs.

I don't like the GIMP interface, but NVU is very well built and VERY easy to use for websites. Quick tabs to code view, etc.
