Issue Resolved: Use AJA System Test for accurate results (post #3).

Picked up a Mac Pro 1,1 with several video production related upgrades installed. Looking to upgrade it fully in the long run (X5355s, 32GB RAM, 5770 etc.)

I installed an OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD and the latest copy of Lion.
BM DiskSpeedTest results WRITE: ~100MB/s …… READ: ~170MB/s.

What's up with the poor speed even with an SSD? Boot times are decent at about 35 sec from power on to login.

Notes:
- Previously it had a 500GB Hard Drive that achieved 50W/60R speeds.
- Tested another Agility 4 128 on MP 4,1 to almost 250R/W consistent.
- This particular SSD achieves 380W/425R in a Dell OptiPlex system with SATAIII.

The problem is that you are benchmarking with Black Magic on a drive that has a SandForce controller. They are incompatible.

Use AJA System test for accurate results..

Thanks! AJA System Test worked. Got the latest version from here http://www.aja.com/en/family/software which is compatible with Lion.

Getting ~240MB/s R/W which is sufficient for me.

On a side note, I have the AJA Kona LHe installed but not fully setup (AJA Software, Control Panel etc.) yet as I did a fresh copy of Lion on the SSD.
