I have a USB installer that I have used on my 2010 MBP and it installed on my new SSD without issue.
I came across a 2011 MBO and am trying the same USB drive. I have erased the HD and ran setup. It stalls at about one second remaining.
I know...wait 15-30 minutes...I left it all last night. No luck. I erased HD and started again. 10:15AM...one second remaining...10:45AM...same thing. I'm half tempted to do an internet recovery of Lion and go from there.
The drive was not bootable and I am working on it to see if I can get it working so that I can buy it from a classmate.
Half tempted to just drop my SSD in it and call it a day, but I need to see if this 500GB HD is any good.
