Apparantly they believe they will have 8tb ssds next year and 16 tb the year after. Bye bye spindrives.

That is impressive, but they are however significantly slower than their lower capacity Lightning Ultra Gen II SSDs.

At this point I am scared to hear or read what the price is going to be!

It's going to be in body part currency! Its the only way - there wont be enough traditional money on the planet to cover such an expense.

I'm thinking:

5 legs and a spleen.

Or 2 arms and a liver.

LOL........ I can't wait for the day, the prices are normal and we can start using them like spin drives. I can only dream at this point a fully loaded blade server of nothing but SSD's or a NAS/SAN box fully loaded. The speed!
