Hi! I've searched numerous Apple.com discussion threads and Macrumors.com....

My iPhone 4S (OS 7.1.1) indicates this usage for:

Messages 1.8 gb
Mail 1.6 gb

I've deleted all of the messages from the respective apps. I've synced with iTunes. I've restarted countless times. :confused:

As you can see in the attached photo, none of these actions make a difference. Can someone please help me free up a couple of gb of space, please?

Restoring the phone as new and not putting on a backup would likely be the only real/full way.

Aside from that, you might try some computer apps that could do some cleaning, like PhoneClean for example.
