.Mac being a bit anal?

I have to ask am I being stupid here? I keep trying to access my .Mac homepage, but for some reason if I type iweb it doesn't work, iWeb however works. Any reason for this? I've never noticed a web address being case sensitive before. Any thoughts?

I mentioned this in my review of iWeb here. I think its stupid! unless you send people the link they probably will not type it correctly, I hope apple fixes this!

Domains aren't case sensitive, though anything following the "/" is.

Aren't case sensitive directories a characteristic of Apache?

You may not have noticed, but they are.
Not Apple's fault.

Only because Apache tends to run on Unix which tends to use case sensitive file systems!

the problem with these .mac iWeb pages is that iWeb is very sloppy! It has put my main index page in a odd folder. I made a page that auto re-directs to that iWeb site I created. It shortened up my URL big time.

My main concern with iWeb is how everything is converted to .png image files. There is no text on the html, everything is .png.

Apple is not neing kind to dial up users at all!

No quite true. This, for example is published in iWeb. Most of the text is just that: text.

No idea! Have you used a non-standard font? I've kept mine to the standard ones that are on all machines. If you use unusual fonts iWeb may PNG the whole lot to ensure it looks correct...

I just used defaults. Who knows why it is? I just tell it to upload to .mac and it's a done deal....

I am beginning to really like the software. Basic stufff has always been Apple's strong point.

Text is highlightable and resizable (i.e. behaves as normal text) if you align it at the top of the text box from within the inspector.

Unfortunately, resizing text does not push images out of the way. The images stay in place, leading to ugly overlapping. So I intentionally force text to align center, which ends up converting the text into a PNG image file. The viewer now can't resize text from within the browser, but at least the odds of it appearing the way you want it to shoot up.

On topic: making /iWeb case sensitive is a real bitch. I'm going to have a hard time with my students with that...

I immediatly thought that iweb was rendering things as photos. Turns out I was right.

Code:
<img src="Home_files/shapeimage_4.png" longdesc="Welcome to kyleherder.com

Herder’s name is not new to motorsport. He has been around many forms of
racing in North America, Europe and Asia. And he hasn’t just “been
around”, but he has been victorious and a sure-bet contender where-ever he
goes." alt="Welcome to kyleherder.com..." id="id10" style="height: 102px;
 left: 39px; position: absolute; top: 405px; width: 615px; z-index: 1; " />
Comes from your website, all your text parts are actually images that iweb has created. I don't nkow why it has done this, probably to have that reflection behind the text. But then why isn't the top link text highlightable? Maybe you are using a weird font, but it doesn't really look like it.

Its when stuff like this happens that I'm glad I'm using dreamweaver, even if its a little harder to get a finished product out.

EDIT: Plus is it just me or does iweb make some of the ugliest code ever? No vertical or horizontal formating, everything run together.

I've had dial up up until about 3 months ago. I live in the country and high speed wasn't available. I only get 512 DL now, but after being to friends houses and them downloading 1000-1500k/s, I just want to cry.
