The icon is also gone now and no fix for over a month is Netflix broke like Blockbuster or Apple and Netflix no longer do not care? If that is the case than add Amazon Prime on Apple TV or Apple start your own streaming service instead.

Just chatted with them:

Netflix Adam

Excellent. So thanks for waiting for me, I was actually on the phone with my Tech Team on this one as I've heard nothing about this until now. They have actually confirmed everything you said, and would like me to let you know this:

Apple did in fact remove that feature from the Netflix app, however, since they did that (as they delegate all the features and compatibility of that device and software) they did not do it permanently.

My Tech Team expressed to me that way back when, Apple had a slight hiccup with Dolby on our app, so they removed it temporarily so that they (and us) could take a look at how to improve that.

6 minutes agoNetflix Adam

So yes, Apple did remove that icon, because Apple has delegated to not allow the Netflix app to use Dolby at this time, but, that is not a permanent decision.

So for peace of mind, simply hang tight and we'll get that back here in no time.
I am not aware if any other app no longer supports Dolby on Apple TV devices, but I can confirm currently Netflix will not until we reach a resolution with Apple on that one.

Also, your buddies here at Netflix are simply a website, and we do not manage nor update any Netflix App, or Netflix Ready Device. Instead, that is up to the manufacturer, as they make both the Netflix ready device, and the Netflix app on that device.

Since Apple makes the Netflix app and that Apple TV, we'll simply have to collaborate with them until they're able to reach a resolution across their devices to accommodate the features of our site :]

grr that is terrible because that is one of the reasons of getting the Apple TV device.

4 minutes agoNetflix Adam

I totally understand that one. The good news though, it will be coming back.

3 minutes agoNetflix Adam

They did confirm that much for me, but since Apple has not released an ETA I personally won't have one at this time.

3 minutes agoNetflix Adam

But, it will be back :]

3 minutes agoYou
Oh well thanks for the explanation and yes thank GOD it will be back sucks no ETA.

3 minutes agoNetflix Adam

I agree completely, I was actually debating getting one myself (as I'm moving in the next week), so I think I'll have to wait until they finish that up. LOL. However, I could give you their number if you'd maybe want to give them a holler and see what's up?

2 minutes agoNetflix Adam

If not, that's totally fine, in the meantime, can I help you with anything else today while we're still online? :]

2 minutes agoYou
Nope that was it

2 minutes agoYou
thank you

2 minutes agoNetflix Adam

Anytime! It's been a pleasure serving you; Thanks for choosing Netflix, have a great rest of your day! And one more thing, if you wouldn't mind, please stay online for a one question survey.

It seems like Netflix is blaming Apple and Apple is the one who controls their app they are the ones also removed DD completely. WTF?
