I was going to post asking why Messages had two microphones, but of course they just explained the usefulness of the feature.

I'm digging the microphone feature!

Looks like the quick video record feature and audio feature is directly going after Snapchat!

Edit: I give it 18 months before Snapchat is considered obsolete. Firm statement I know, but Apple will certainly go after them.

After the keyboard update at the beginning I thought "great, another year without swype keyboard".

But now you can add third party keyboards. This is HUGE!! :D:D:D

Love the naysayers who got on my case (and others) for posting about the need for this feature. HAH.

Seriously though, this is the main reason why I hadn't returned iPhone. This changes everything for me. It's not just Swype. There are other great keyboards out there (SwiftKey) which can now come over to Apple if they want.

Huge.

Ditto.

I can now reconsider iPhone.

But it's also a sad day. This and the ability to say "Hey, Siri" (like "OK Google") really does show that Apple's innovative days are over, and they too are now resorting to just copying. These are features Android has had for years.

OP doesn't sound too sure of the commitment this type of thread requires. Could a moderator see if WhackyNinja is up for the task again since he did such a great job on last years?

Very happy.

Main reason I jailbreak has always been sbsettings and bitesms for the quick reply.

Control centre took away the need for sbsettings and now there's a quick reply I'll be happy not jailbreaking.

Can they though? You make it seem like there will be a keyboard category on the App Store, but I don't think this is the case. This is just one additional keyboard they've added.

I am happy that Apple seems to be opening up a little and allowing apps to talk to each other. I saw that Safari got some extensions, but will developers (specifically 1Password) be able to implement the extensions themselves, or will Apple decide who gets to get their hooks into Safari?

You can...they demoed it with Greg Joswiak. He made a "voice-message" from the Lockscreen in a Group-Chat.
