Darwin award not sure how it even happened.

Do does something like this happen?
Tennessee Man Accidentally Shoots, Kills Self While Driving
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewir...ots-kills-self
Quote:
A man accidentally shot and killed himself while driving Wednesday afternoon down a Tennessee highway, Chattanooga TV station WTVC reported.

James Anthony McKenzie, 49, shot himself in the thigh with a .45 caliber handgun as he drove, Meigs County Detective Scott Wiggins said. A call came in for deputies to respond to a seizure, he said, but when they arrived McKenzie had apparently bled to death from the wound in his thigh.

The man was in the car alone, according to WTVC, and deputies were trying to determine how the gun discharged. McKenzie held a valid permit for the firearm.

Probably should have never owned a gun in the first place.

[Dumbass] Man dies after shooting himself in leg while driving. This would have never happened if the other thigh would have been armed

I doubt labels would matter some people just would not understand them.

The sad fact is, yesterday he would have been arguing that owning a gun doesn't increase your chances of dying from it.

The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun.

Both the seat-belt and steering wheel will be cleared of murder charges based upon current "Stand Your Ground" laws in the state.

Given that he shot himself in the thigh, it was probably holstered at his side while driving. That would probably be why it says police are investigating the reason for its discharge.

It's always the same with those having guns in the US. I agree that accidents can always happen, but I wished there would be some kind of test before actually acquiring them. If we Europeans read about things like this.. feels so weird. But well, that's probably more a cultural matter.

If there had been a good guy with a gun to shoot and kill him before he shot himself and died then he may not have shot himself and died.

I swear, they let just about any old buffoon have a driver's license, we ought to do something about that. Lucky he failed to run into anyone.

Hey, it could've been worse...

He could've had his phone on his other side, and when the phone rang he could've reached for the wrong thing and shot his head off...
