Scavenged one of these from an old pc for my MDD but it isnt recognized by my comp. I tried version 3.3.3 of Orangeware but it can't recognize it either. Is this futile or can anyone help with this.

Thanks!

What version of the card is it? These cards had a couple of chips across the same series.

Bingo! I installed it on my hd with Tiger and it works. Is there any way it can get it to work with Leopard?

Kext files are protected from being written to when in System/Library/Extensions. Most users create two copies when making edits. One for backup purposes that you can put on a flash drive or somewhere safe and one on the Desktop to edit. In the event that this really screws your install up, boot into Tiger and restore the original. Remember that you must properly re-add the kext into the folder and not just drag it in.

In the end it seems only WEP is recognized under Tiger, I do appreciate the help but probably will end up sticking with sharing the connection from my macbook pro instead.

It's running 10.4.11 but the program to use the pci card only gives me open or wep as options
