Hi, now that Intel ICH7 is driving iMac's USB 2.0 bus. Do you think the new USB 2.0 chipset will provide much faster speed than the lame USB implementations on PowerBook G4 and iMac G5?

Is there any benchmark software to use for testing this kind of thing?

Well I only have the PowerBook G4 17" and iMac Intel 17". Do you think their USB 2.0 scores will be any representative in a comparison?

In a word, no.

USB still consumes CPU time regardless of platform, and is not built for sustained transfer, so it should be proportionately slow.
