macOS External build system trouble.

I'm trying to debug ffmpeg in Xcode, I've got the external build system setup, except there's no section to set the header path, and more importantly I'd like to be able to have Xcode run the configure script before compiling (so I don't have to do it in terminal manually) but I'm not sure how to do this?
