Okay so here's the deal, I bought this iMac G3 about six months ago and it is amazingly fast. I'll admit it's no road runner but it still packs a punch for it's age. Anyways, I downloaded the latest version of iTunes that is compatible with my machine, iTunes 8. Whenever I use the visualizer, it plays back really choppy although when I use the same CD in iTunes 2.0.4 on OS 9 it works fine. Any suggestions?

It's because on OS 9, that version of iTunes and its visualizer were geared towards the iMac G3. iTunes 8 is definitely more made for more modern computers, and the G3 probably can't handle it well.

Yes
Have you tried upping the memory available to iTunes 8?
Do a Get Info on the App (cmd I from Finder) to change the allocation.

You can't change memory allocation in Mac OS 10.4. That feature only existed in classic Mac OS.
