I have an unknown app in the login items list, but I'm unable to delete it. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Running 10.7

There should be a [ + | - ] button bar underneath the login items list. Selecting the item in question, then pressing [ - ] should remove the item from your login items.

What is the item, specifically?

Unknown App in Login Items

Yes, I've tried to delete it using that method but it's grayed out. It is listed as Unknown App, so I'm not sure what it is. Also, the MBP is running 10.8.5, not 10.7 like I listed before.

Hi,

you might delete the relevant preferences file.

Save the list of the apps and other items in Login Items.

Select the line below, right click, Services, Reveal in Finder :

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist

Move the file to the trash.

Log Out, then Log in again.
