Yep but i attribute it to the fact that iOS 8 is beta software, as is iCloud Drive, and thus its not likely fully functioning.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It seems to have updated to drive on my yosemite MBPr just fine but my phone and iPad Mini just sit there spinning in update mode. Not the end of the world though it does throw a monkey wrench in my calender updates at least till its fixed...or Sept 9th.
